The Long Weekend by Norm Foster October 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. & October 24 at 2:00 p.m.
The truth and lies of a friendship come to the surface during a weekend visit between two couples. There are plenty of surprises along the way in this biting comedy of manners.
"There's just enough sex, just enough smart talk, just enough preposterous plot twists to keep you titillated."
A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, as adapted by Michael Shamata
December 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. & December 5 at 2:00 p.m.
The classic age-old tale of sour and stingy Ebenezer Scrooge's ethical and emotional transformation after the supernatural visitations of Jacob Marley and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come.
That Summer by David French
February 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. & February 13 at 2:00 p.m.
Set at a tranquil summer resort in Southern Ontario, this is an emotional, bittersweet story of a woman looking back at her past, -- her youthful and eventful summer of 1958. It is a story of birth, death, falling in love, and the dissolution of love. It is a story of the innocence of youth and the wisdom which age brings.
Moon Over Buffalo by Ken Ludwig
April 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. & April 17 at 2:00 p.m.
Ken Ludwig (of Lend Me a Tenor fame) brings us another madcap adventure. It is 1953 and George and Charlotte Hay, on tour with their repertory company to perform Cyrano de Bergerac and Private Lives, are thrilled to discover that director Frank Capra is en route to Buffalo to catch their performance. There are hilarious misunderstandings mixed with zany misadventures, in this valentine to theatre hams everywhere.
The Neighbourhood Crime Watch by Craig Alpaugh
June 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. & June 12 at 2:00 p.m.
During a botched robbery, two bungling burglars find themselves in attendance at a neighbourhood crime watch meeting. Complications ensue when home-owner, Lisa's guests start arriving: a vigilante-spinster neighbour, a neurotic psychiatrist, the parish priest, and Officer Buddy, an off-duty policeman. This fast-paced play has all the ingredients of classic farce: mistaken identities, physical comedy, young lovers, the reuniting of a father with his lost son and, of course, a happy ending.
